2017 Live Church & Healing For Today Class Recordings
Please see the 2015 series, as the 2016 Winter is a continuation of the HFT Classes which we began in 2015
We believe that you can walk in God's grace and at the same time recognize and address sin in one's personal life, and that this can be done without going into a works/performance/legalistic based mindset. It is true that there is the potential to can "off center" and get into legalism, though that is not our heart. There is a balance between "grace covers everything and so I can do anything, even hurt others, and God is okay with that" and "you have to be perfect, act perfect, talk perfect, obey perfectly, and there's no give." Either of those would be error in application, and can tend toward abuse. Feel free to take in our library of curriculum, writings and media. God's commandments are loving boundaries for our care and protection. It is only when man twists them that we get off base.
It's okay to think critically, and to sort through and sift through your beliefs. It is not only a church's beliefs, but how they are practiced that matter. You are free to test things for yourself, and anyone who cares about your life in Christ should support that freedom. God gave you a brain, and you are licensed and ordained to use it.
We have been adding additional teaching on discernment of spiritual and other forms of abuse. When dealing with the deep issues of the heart, we have found that in a hierarchical authoritative environment, people can and do abuse the "taking personal responsibility" part of dealing with heart issues, and try to make you responsible not only for your own issues but theirs. In effect, the scriptures can get "twisted." See our writeup on healthy vs. unhealthy deliverance and our section in the training section on abuse. We have added some teaching so that when you learn about fear, or idolatry or anger, that you know it is okay to feel and respond and think, and so you don't fall prey to those who would use your own normal thinking and responses to manipulate or steer you for their own ends. Older recordings and teaching prior to mid-2015 does not yet reflect this balance, but our heart to add this balance to the teaching has come out of seeing the bad fruit when it is misapplied in a formulaic fashion. We are updating and revising some (and it takes time to do this) to better reflect the balance, and when we present a teaching, sharing the continuum of how "not" dealing with an issue can be problematic, to where it is healthy, to where it can deteriorate into legalism if applied as a formula or if some human person is setting standards or timing for you to change your thinking, speech and behavior for their own ends.
Thanks for your patience. We plan to post notes and other material as time permits. Please also look in the Ministry Manual section if it is referenced by a teaching as there may be a ministry list, notes or helps related to that teaching. Be sure to explore our graphics section under the "More..." menu, and subscribe to the newsletter.

Overcoming Optional Fear 1/16/2016 Ministry Intensive HFT
Recognizing Occultism Part One 2/08/2016
This is the first in a multi-part series.
Moving From Survival To Thriving & Flourishing By Overcoming Victimization 4/18/2016
This material should help you in recognizing the interplay between others' part and things you may be able to do to free yourself from cycles of repeated victimization.
God's plan for us is that we flourish and prosper in the good things that come from Him and that we do the works of ministry He's called us to as part of the body of Christ. If you are finding yourself "stuck" somewhere, it's good to begin to understand how much you identify with victory or victim and see that it is not a no-win situation to move from a not so good place to a better place.

Here are some resources we mentioned we would include as part of discussing overcoming victimization. The first is an article, actually a small e-book by Arthur Burk of Sapphire Leadership Group. Arthur and Megan have graciously granted permission for us to post it. In it are many years of earned freedom thoughtfully distilled for the benefit of the body of Christ:
Moving Beyond Victmization & Survival To Thriving & Flourishing (Part 2) 5/14/2016
For more resources and to help others who are dealing with marital and spiritual victimization, please read through the Engrafted Word Fellowship Church training section discussion on Abuse. It can be an opening of a discussion and guide to additional resources.
